EVN Station: Torun Author : Eugeniusz Pazderski, Kazimierz Borkowski Date : October 11, 2000 Personnel Changes ----------------- None. Brief Report of Last EVN Session -------------------------------- The September session has been recorded with MkIV formatter. We noted a 1 s jump of the formatter time which could have been due to the formatter (however a human factor is not entirely excluded). All experiments of the session were performed according to the schedule. Logistics Problems Encountered Since Last TOG Meeting ----------------------------------------------------- None. Technical Problems Encountered Since Last TOG Meeting ----------------------------------------------------- During the 3/00 session we had serious problems with the amplitude and phase calibration system. Also it was discovered that quality of data on our P&G recorder is sensitive not only to the thickness of tapes, but also to the tape speed (this problem emerged with speeds of 40"/s and required adjustment of tape tension for tape to wind evenly). It seems this recorder needs more attention. On October 11th we experienced a crash of the helium compressor used for cooling of 6 and 5 cm band receivers. In practice it means the C band will be unavailable for at least a month. As in the past, we have continued problems with the BBCs (nonuniform passbands, instabilities). Changes/Upgrades Made to Hardware/Software ------------------------------------------ The EFOS-15 Hydrogen maser has been moved to specially arranged room with climate control and installed on a separate foundation. Any Other Comments ------------------
