To be sent to: Dr Alastair G Gunn, email: agg@jb.man.ac.uk ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- EVN Station: Torun Author : Eugeniusz Pazderski, Kazimierz Borkowski Date : April 26, 2000 Personnel Changes ----------------- Grzegorz Hrynek is now responsible for FS operation and VLBI sessions preparation, in place of Roman Feiler. Brief Report of Last EVN Session -------------------------------- The last session went almost human error free. We ascribe this to introducing a check list (consisting of about 20 items) which is to be filled out by each new observer and before each new experiment. Logistics Problems Encountered Since Last TOG Meeting ----------------------------------------------------- Four thick tapes (with two experiments) from the last session got lost on their way to JIVE correlator. Technical Problems Encountered Since Last TOG Meeting ----------------------------------------------------- Almost entire session 4/99 has been observed with wrong formatter-recorder connection. During correlation of data from the last session it was found that one of the tracks was blank most of the time. Local tests showed that the reason most probably lied in unsure connectors on the rear panel of the recorder. Changes/Upgrades Made to Hardware/Software ------------------------------------------ Right before the 4/99 session Salvo Buttaccio (of Noto) has repaired our MkIV formatter, and Jan Buiter (JIVE) has thoroughly checked and adjusted our recorder. The following VLBI test experiment confirmed proper working of the formatter and very acceptable quality of recordings. However, many parts of the recorder are evidently in need of replacement. New instrumentation purchased include: 1) The TD-5 Degausser (Audiolab Inc.) 2) Civil weather station WST-7000 (IRDAM) 3) CNS Clock (with TAC32 Plus software) and HP 53131A counter. 4) ... [EP dopisze] The meteo station and the GPS clock are at present being abapted to the local environment. Any Other Comments ------------------
